Clients
We are working with a manufacturing company in the following ways:
- Helping them reduce their energy bills through the purchase of energy efficient equipment.
- Advising them on how to take advantage of government incentive programs.
They are in the process of purchasing all new equipment, this is an excellent time for them to take advantage of NJ incentives offered for the purchase of energy efficient equipment. To date, they have saved tens of thousands of dollars in rebates and anticipate earning several thousand more rebate dollars from their remaining purchases.
We are advising a commercial property management and development firm in the following ways:
- Advising them on their energy efficient purchases and rebates.
- Helping them purchase energy from a secondary source.
- Working with them to create and implement a sustainability strategy that is incorporated into their core business strategy.
The firm has spent a few thousand dollars of energy efficient purchases over the last year and did not take advantage of incentives offered through the state. We are helping them to collect their rebate monies as there is a one year time limit from the date of purchase to earn their incentive dollars. Purchasing energy from a secondary market can save a company thousands of dollars, especially a company that is in the business of operating buildings. 30% of a building's operating expense comes from energy costs and energy can be 3% of a company's total revenue. We are helping this firm save thousands of dollars in energy costs through purchasing energy from a secondary market. In addition, we are developing a sustainability strategy that involves collaboration and participation from every employee and department so the organization can collectively reach their sustainability goals while improving employee productivity and morale.
A New York City fitness center asked us how they could reduce their electricity bills. Here is what we are doing for them:
- Arranged a comprehensive and low-cost energy audit through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). They provided a 10 page document including suggestions for energy efficient purchases.
- Provide ongoing counsel regarding their purchasing efforts which has helped them to reduce their monthly electric bills by 33%. The estimated savings over the next 10 years is over $20,000.
Setting and Executing Strategy
A company's strategy defines the steps a company will go through to reach a desired goal. Well-defined strategies explain how a company will get from where it is today to where it wants to be in the future. We have helped our clients with a variety of strategy initiatives.
Our process for setting and executing strategy is adapted from The Balanced Scorecard, a well regarded tool for helping companies achieve success. While most management tools focus on financial measurement, our system provides a more comprehensive perspective on a company's performance. We look at the relationship between Financial, Customer, Internal Operations, and Growth and Learning perspectives while assuring they are in alignment.
The first step is to figure out where you are today. We will share our performance management process with you while demonstrating the tangible results you will receive. We will facilitate a 2-hour strategy and execution session with your senior leadership team to learn all about your business practices, your people, and your core processes. We will draft a strategy map, outline competitive differences, and outline critical issues to address. We will follow-up the session with points covered and recommendations to pursue.
Here is how we drive your bottom line.
Define Strategy - Where do you want to go?- We will develop and/or clarify your strategy, starting with your mission, vision and values. We will make sure you are ready to execute your strategy.
- We will develop action plans for your organization that will connect what each individual does to actions that drive the strategy. This alignment assures your company is working towards your vision.
- We will continually monitor progress and make adjustments throughout the process. This objective data will help us continually improve your plans and actions.
- Measurement is the heart of the performance management process. We will develop metrics with you that allow you to continually measure organizational performance. The metrics will help you predict success and failure and to evaluate results.
- We accompany you at every turn as you execute your strategy. We will help you get your team ready, align all actions in support of the strategy, set your internal communications plan, and make sure processes and systems are in place.
